Description
On the banks of the Guadalquivir River stands Córdoba, one of the most fascinating cities in Andalusia and an ancient cultural beacon that became the light of the world during the splendor of the Caliphate of Córdoba. Its urban layout, marked by a very rich legacy where Roman, Islamic and Christian eras blend together, offers a monumental landscape protected by UNESCO that captivates from the very first moment with its beauty and historical elegance.
Our journey departs from the center of Seville early in the morning, beginning a comfortable road route toward the northeast. Along the way, we will make a short stop in the monumental town of Carmona, a white village ideal for having a coffee and resting before continuing the journey through the Andalusian olive groves that dot the caliphal landscape.
Upon arriving in Córdoba, we will begin a complete walking tour with our official guide through the maze of its historic center. We will walk over the stone blocks of the majestic Roman Bridge, admire the exterior of the Royal Stables and enter the labyrinth of the old Jewish Quarter, a neighborhood of whitewashed facades where we will visit the historic medieval Synagogue and iconic corners such as the colorful Calle de las Flores and its patios full of vegetation.
After some free time to enjoy the excellent Cordoban cuisine in the local restaurants, comes the highlight of the excursion: the guided visit inside the Mosque-Cathedral. We will enter this colossal monumental temple to admire its dazzling forest of bichromatic arches, its golden mosaics and the sacred Mihrab, discovering the unique architectural coexistence with the Christian cathedral integrated inside before heading back to Seville.
