Description
Set on the hills overlooking Sierra Nevada, the ancient city of Granada unfolds one of the most picturesque and culturally rich urban layouts in all of Europe. Its historic districts and the monumental setting of the Sabika hill preserve intact the flavor of old medieval times, where the majestic Andalusian architecture is in constant dialogue with the natural landscape and open gardens.
Departing from Seville early in the morning, we will enjoy a pleasant road journey towards eastern Andalusia. Upon arrival at our destination, we will begin the route by ascending through the lush forests of the monumental hill to enter the free-access areas and exteriors of the great Alhambra complex, admiring up close the imposing scale of its walls and defensive towers.
During this guided walk through the fortified citadel, we will contemplate monuments as impressive as the Gate of Justice or the splendid Renaissance facade of the Palace of Charles V. Later, we will descend towards the historic center to cross the Darro River and enter the labyrinthine alleys of the Albayzín district, an old Arab suburb full of white houses and traditional cisterns.
The cultural day will culminate on the most spectacular balconies of the Jewish quarter and the suburb, highlighting the famous Mirador de San Nicolás. There you will enjoy unrivaled panoramic views of the Alhambra set against the mountains, and you will also have free time to savor the famous local tapas and stroll at your own pace through the shopping squares before heading back.
A fascinating tour designed to capture the essence and the most legendary exterior beauty of the Granada capital.
