Description
Majestically set beside the waters of the Guadalquivir, the thousand-year-old Córdoba unfolds one of the most beautiful and extensive historic centers in Europe. This ancient capital, which served as a political and cultural epicenter both during the Roman Empire and in the centuries of Islamic rule, preserves intact a layout of cobbled streets and hidden courtyards that invite you to discover Andalusian history through its facades and public monuments.
We will begin our day by departing by bus from Seville heading east. During the journey, we will make a worthwhile technical stop in the beautiful white village of Carmona, an ideal break to stretch our legs and have a refreshment. Afterwards, we will resume the trip crossing the river plain surrounded by olive groves until we reach the walls of the ancient caliphal city.
Once at our destination, we will take a guided walking immersion through the most significant corners of the urban layout. We will cross the imposing Roman Bridge over the riverbed and stroll through the historic Jewish Quarter. Along this urban route, we will admire the exteriors of the Royal Stables, visit the medieval Synagogue of Córdoba and stop to photograph the symmetry and color of the famous Córdoba courtyards decorated with flowers.
At the end of the city tour, passengers on this option will have ample and extended free time to explore the city at their own pace. It will be the perfect moment to wander through the lively squares of the center, shop for local crafts or sit in a traditional tavern to taste culinary specialties such as salmorejo or flamenquín, before meeting the group for the bus return to Seville.
